Right now, our field teams don’t have a proper survey form for range installations. They’ve been using other forms like “Cooktop” or “Oven,” but those don’t capture the key details that matter for full range setups. As a result, important information—like cutout dimensions, gas/electrical hookups, and clearance requirements—often gets missed.
That leads to real headaches on installation day: ranges don’t fit between cabinets, gas lines or outlets are in the wrong spot, or overhead clearances aren’t up to spec. It causes reschedules, rework, and unhappy customers.
We’d love to see a dedicated “Range” survey form in the Home Visit app, with clear prompts for all the key measurements and site conditions needed for a smooth install.
It should help surveyors easily capture:
Appliance dimensions: height, width, depth (with and without handle), and depth with door open.
Cutout / cabinet opening: width between cabinets, countertop height, depth, and backguard/overhang space (especially for slide-in or drop-in models).
Clearance requirements: sides, rear, and overhead spacing; proximity to combustibles; and space for plug, gas valve, and anti-tip bracket.
Connections: outlet type and location (240V or 120V), gas line position and height, ventilation requirements (hood or downdraft).
Access path dimensions: doorways, hallways, stairs, elevators, and any tight turns.
Additional considerations: anti-tip bracket installation, countertop overhangs, leveling legs, and trim kits.
In short, we just want a guided, purpose-built form that ensures every range installation is measured and documented correctly the first time—so our teams can avoid surprises, and customers can enjoy a seamless install experience.
