Add type-specific Microwave survey forms (Drawer, OTR, Built-In)

We’ve had a few Home Visits where the microwave install didn’t go smoothly because the survey notes were inconsistent. For example, one home had an OTR unit where the cooktop-to-cabinet clearance looked fine in photos, but the vent path wasn’t captured and the outlet wasn’t confirmed. The crew arrived with the wrong assumptions and we had to reschedule.

Microwaves aren’t one-size-fits-all: drawers, over-the-range, and built-ins each have different measurements and readiness checks. When those details aren’t captured in a structured way, fit assessments get fuzzy, electrical/venting steps get missed, and we end up doing follow-ups.

What we’re asking for

Create three simple, standardized survey forms under Microwaves in Home Visits—one for each install type—so field teams can capture the right info the first time. Keep labels clear, use inches for dimensions, and use Yes/No for readiness checks (just like the Range and Refrigerator forms).

What each form should collect

Drawer Microwave

  • Dimensions: Cutout width/height/depth, cabinet face frame depth, drawer opening clearance

  • Electrical: 120V outlet behind unit? Outlet within 36″?

  • Site readiness: Base cabinet completed/leveled? Drawer opens fully? Vent clearance per manufacturer?

Over-the-Range (OTR)

  • Dimensions: Space width/height between cabinets, depth from wall to cabinet front, cooktop-to-cabinet clearance

  • Venting: Vented outside? (Rear/Top) Existing vent size matches spec?

  • Electrical: 120V outlet in upper cabinet? Accessible and grounded?

  • Site readiness: Secure mounting surface (stud/blocking)? Area clean/clear?

Built-In

  • Dimensions: Cutout width/height/depth, space to adjacent cabinet, trim kit width (27″/30″)

  • Electrical: 120V outlet behind/adjacent? Dedicated circuit?

  • Site readiness: Cabinet/trim area complete? Cutout verified to manufacturer?

A quick example
If a customer is installing an OTR unit, the form should guide the surveyor to confirm the width/height between cabinets, measure cooktop-to-cabinet clearance, select the vent direction (rear vs. top) and vent size, and tick Yes/No for the upper-cabinet outlet and grounding. That way we know before scheduling that ventilation matches spec and power is ready—no surprises on install day.

Where this should live and how it should work

  • Add a Microwaves category in the Home Visit form dropdown (alphabetical), with Drawer, OTR, and Built-In selectable independently.

  • Save responses into the same Home Visit submission model as other appliance surveys.

  • Require all key fields before submission (simple validation).

  • Works on both desktop and the driver mobile app.

The ask
Please add three type-specific Microwave survey forms—Drawer, OTR, and Built-In—with the fields above, required-field validation, and placement in the Microwaves dropdown. The goal is clearer fit checks, verified electrical/venting details, and fewer repeat visits.
