🐞 Problem:
Currently, the only way to submit a purchase order directly through DMI in the platform is by doing so from an existing customer order. There’s no option for a dealer to place a purchase order independently.

⚠️ Why is this a problem:
Dealers often need to order products from DMI for reasons unrelated to a specific customer — for example, to stock their showroom floor or add to their general inventory. Without the ability to create standalone purchase orders, dealers are forced to find workarounds outside the platform, which disrupts workflow consistency and makes inventory tracking less reliable.

✅ Solution : Dev Team to solve : Possible jumping off points:

Add functionality that allows dealers to create and submit purchase orders directly to DMI without linking them to a specific customer order.

• This should allow a dealer to send a purchase order directly to DMI without it being tied to a customer order.

• Allow dealers to select products from their DMI catalog, choose quantities, and submit directly through the same API connection currently used for customer-linked POs.

• Will require a new designation or status type such as “Inventory Order” or “In-House Order.” - Maybe special icon on the open po page

• Include a reference field for optional internal notes (e.g., “For display” or “Stocking inventory”).

• Needs to be reviewed by dev to determine best approach within the existing DMI PO structure.

🚀 Phase 1: Functional Setup

• Add button or menu option for creating standalone DMI purchase orders.

• Enable product selection, quantity entry, and submission via API.

🚀 Phase 2: Data Handling & Visibility

• Flag and label non-customer POs appropriately.

• Ensure they appear in the same order history/log with clear distinction from customer orders.

🚀 Phase 3: Testing & Dealer Feedback

• Test with Brooklawn and other DMI-integrated clients.

• Confirm submission flow, API response handling, and inventory
