We’ve noticed some confusion and friction around how customer phone numbers show up between the order page and the driver app.Right now, on the order page we can see three possible phone numbers for a customer: a mobile, a home, and an alternate number. However, in the driver app only two numbers are visible. This means drivers don’t always see all the contact options that our team sees on the order page.On top of that, the mobile number on the order page isn’t labeled as “Mobile,” while “Home” and “Alternate” are labeled. This makes it unclear which number is the primary one, especially for anyone who doesn’t know the internal logic of the system.For our team and our drivers, this inconsistency can lead to:
Extra time spent guessing which number to call first
Missed or delayed contacts with customers
Drivers thinking a number is missing when it’s actually only visible on the back-office order page
Example
Let’s say we have a customer with:
Mobile: 555-111-2222
Home: 555-333-4444
Alternate: 555-555-6666
On the order page, we see three numbers, but the top one just looks like a plain phone number with no “Mobile” label, and the other two are labeled “Home” and “Alternate.”On the driver app, the driver might only see two numbers, like:
(no label) 555-111-2222
Alternate: 555-555-6666
The driver doesn’t see the home number at all and may not realize the unlabeled number is the mobile. In practice, this leads to confusion and sometimes failed attempts to reach the customer.
What we’d like
From a customer/operations perspective, we’d like phone numbers to be:
Complete – If the order page has Mobile, Home, and Alternate, the driver app should show all of them too.
Clearly labeled – Every number should have a label: “Mobile”, “Home”, “Alternate” on both the order page and the driver app.
Consistent – The order and naming of these numbers should match between the order page and the driver app.
Easy to use – Drivers should be able to tap any of these numbers and call directly.
Final request
Please update the system so that:
The order page clearly labels all customer phone numbers (“Mobile”, “Home”, “Alternate”).
The driver app shows the exact same set of phone numbers with the same labels and in the same order.
All visible phone numbers in the driver app are tap-to-call.
The goal is to make it easy for our drivers to reach customers reliably, with zero guesswork about which number to use or whether a number is missing.
