Description
The Inventory Bypass function was originally designed to ignore inventory checks, but it currently forces users to pick a delivery method and date and then automatically marks items as delivered. This causes issues with scheduling, record accuracy, and warehouse handling.
Problem
Forces delivery method/date selection even when not relevant.
Auto-marks items as delivered, creating inaccurate records.
Breaks the normal order/delivery flow.
Confuses users, especially for future deliveries and 3rd-party providers like AFM.
Solution
Remove required delivery method & date inputs from the bypass flow.
Do not auto-mark items as delivered upon bypass.
Add a clear “Bypassed” label in order views and warehouse UI.
Exclude bypassed items from scan-out pages to avoid warehouse confusion.
Provide an Undo Bypass option to revert items back to inventory handling.
Track bypass/undo actions in the system changelog for visibility.
Impact
Allows flexible handling of 3rd-party and future deliveries.
Prevents false delivery records.
Reduces warehouse errors by removing bypassed items from scan-out.
Improves transparency with clear labeling and changelog tracking.
Enhances user confidence by aligning function behavior with expectations.
