When I’m creating a new quote, I often don’t realize the customer already has active orders with us. That means I might accidentally start a fresh delivery, add another delivery fee, or miss a chance to bundle everything onto the same route. It’s easy to overlook because there’s no obvious heads-up while I’m working in the quote.
A recent example: a customer placed multiple orders (e.g., #3690, #3973, #4012) within days of each other. Because we didn’t see the existing orders during quoting, they got charged multiple delivery fees and our delivery planner missed a simple consolidation. That creates extra cost for the customer and avoidable complexity for our team.
What I need is a clear, in-your-face alert in the quote flow so I don’t miss it.
Example:
I select a customer and add the first line item to a new quote. At the top of the quote page, an info banner appears:
“This customer has other existing orders: #3690, #3973, #4012.”
(Exclude delivered or returned orders so the list stays relevant.)
Request:
Please add an automatic “Customer has existing orders” notification in the quote workflow—triggered after the customer is selected and the first line item is added—so we can avoid duplicate delivery fees, bundle routes when possible, and keep customers happier.
