Currently, instant rebates are not included in the tax calculation. The rebate only reduces the main product price, while the tax amount remains unchanged. This behavior exists because manufacturer-funded instant rebates are treated differently by state tax regulations.
However, since we donโt have a configurable setting to control this logic, all customers are forced to follow the same tax behavior. This can lead to incorrect tax calculations, compliance concerns, and confusion for customers in states where instant rebates should reduce the taxable amount.
Proposed solution
Add a configurable setting to control how instant rebates affect tax calculations. Ideally, this should be managed at the rebate level rather than as a company-wide setting, allowing more flexibility to match different state rules and rebate types.
