When setting up our account, the condition settings for appliances feel inconsistent. Every client seems to label things differently — one calls something “factory blemished,” another says “open box,” and another just “used.” It creates confusion for both our team and our customers.
For example, customers don’t always know the difference between “open-box” and “scratch & dent,” or what “factory blemished” really means. Internally, this also makes reporting and workflows harder to manage.
What would help is if the platform provided a set of default, standardized condition options during onboarding. For example:
Open-Box: Any appliance not in the original packaging. This could be damaged, a customer return, or refurbished.
Factory Blemished: Items purchased from the manufacturer as “near perfect,” with little to no blemishes (maybe a small ding or scratch).
Display Model: An appliance that has been displayed on a showroom floor.
We’d want to be able to turn these on/off as needed and still add our own custom conditions if necessary. That way, we get consistency across onboarding, backend management, and the website display, while keeping flexibility for special cases.
The main request: give us standardized default appliance conditions with clear descriptions, but allow customization where needed.
