creating an acount on the website

I have created an account on the website but have never set up a password for it. Everytime I login, it sends me an email with a link to get me in. Is that the way it is supposed to be? If someone sets up an account on the customer’s website using their email address but does not make a purchase….it does not remember them at all. I’ve never seen a system like that before. Is that what we intended?

We also need to look at the website portal through the lens of a contractor. I would expect to be able to create a username and password, have the store offer me a line of credit and some sort of special contractor pricing. In other systems, I have seen this as a “master discount.” where you can enter a percent and it automatically takes that price down. Like 10% off on all products. Something like that. But it also needs to have a floor so stores are not selling things

below cost because they have a discount.
